For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I know this is a spot to talk about fishing, which we do 95-percent of the time. But I also know many of you who fish also hunt. And now that September is here, it's a transition time for us to turn our attention from the water to the hills chasing birds and big game. I've been spending the last several weekends scouting for elk. After Mom died last September, I told Dad we were going to do a lot of hunting this fall. He spent the final 8-years of Mom's life being her sole caregiver. I knew after 57-years of marriage it would be incredibly important to continue giving him something to look forward to. So I've been hiking, placing trail cameras and looking for elk. Our archery hunt starts next Saturday. I lucked into a huge herd bull the other day that was enough to get my blood pumping. Of course, I couldn't find a single true spike, but to hear a bull elk bugle causes my spine to tingle. For those on our Facebook page, you can see the video. You'll also hear me cow calling in the foreground. Until next time, Good Hunting!
