For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I was recently asked if I'd make a presentation to a high school AVID class on my career and how I got here. I'll actually be speaking to two different classes via Zoom video conference. When you look back at the path that brought you to where you are today, I'm sure it's much different than you envisioned from the other direction looking forward. When I graduated with a B average from Sedro-Woolley High School in 1986, all I knew I wanted to do was play football in college. Pacific University gave me, and undersized and underwhelming offensive lineman that chance. Then came a neck injury, several redirections and by 1989 I was in a poorly-paying career in radio. 30+ years later, I'm still in broadcasting and love most minutes. The inspiration for my path came bouncing along logging roads hunting. After finishing our morning hunts when I was a kid, we'd ride around looking for animals while listening to the Seahawks on the radio. Pete Gross' voice came crackling through the airwaves describing something I couldn't see. I was hooked. And I've been lucky to be surrounded by incredible people along the way. Until next time, Good Fishing!
