While fishing for kokanee continues to very good some days and not so hot on others, many anglers are going to be focusing on the rainbow trout in Lake Chelan on Saturday of this week. That’s when the first annual $50,000.00 Trout Derby is being held by the Manson Business Association. I suggest that you log onto www.moretomanson.com and get all the details about how you could be the lucky winner of this huge cash prize. Other trout anglers will be heading down to the Seep Lakes where several trout lakes opened on April 1st. Fishing was good at North Teal Lake for bank anglers. They landed good catches of trout in the 13- to 16-inch range. If you have a pontoon boat or float tube this one would be a very good bet. Also, north of Soap Lake at Dry Falls, fly fishers are enjoying good action. The popular lake is producing 12- to 20-inch trout for those who are paddling their pontoon boats and other small craft on the lake. After this weekend anglers will again set their sights on Lake Chelan for the Something Catchy Kokanee Derby on April 18th and 19th. Learn about this one at www.somethingcatchy.org.
