I can finally give anglers another recommendation for a spot to go ice fishing. The ice on Fish Lake is now safe enough to get out on to drill holes. Not only is the ice safe enough for fishing, the lake is above the inversion layer we’re experiencing here in Central Washington, and gets periods of clear, blue skies. Just seeing the sunshine would be enough to get me up there, heck with catching any fish. Typically Fish Lake provides pretty decent fishing for both rainbow and perch through the winter. I know it’s a month away, but I always remind folks about the Annual Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association Game Feed this far in advance. Space is really limited and tickets go quickly—really. The event will be held on Saturday, February 21st. The cost is $20.00 for the game feed and another $20.00 for the membership to the Wenatchee Sportsmen’s Association. I think 99 percent of the tickets are sold at forty dollars. Everyone renews their membership when they go to the banquet. The membership fee and the auction proceeds keep this high powered machine running. All the projects funded by the game feed go to local projects.
