In the “what was I doing at this time last year” category, I saw that I was kokanee fishing on Lake Chelan. It was memorable, not for the great fishing that can be had this time of year, but for having a couple of people on board that really weren’t dressed for the occasion. I didn’t have a top on my boat, and it turned out to be a breezy and chilly day on the water. Of course, the two anglers with me didn’t complain, but I did hear about it later. I heard from my wife that she didn’t appreciate me putting her brother-in-law and the new owner of the store she works at through a miserable day on the water. What made it worse is that I have a great Fishing Buddy heater but left it in the garage. Thankfully, the boat I am driving for Bob Feil Boats and Motors this year is a half hard top and fully enclosed. These two may want to try Chelan again, now that I can promise them we will be fishing in comfort. Next to sockeye I like to have a good supply of kokanee in my freezer.
