For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Well, it was a good run for Washington, but that Michigan defense was something else. I grew up in Western Washington, which made me a Husky fan by default. Growing up in Sedro-Woolley, my Dad made me go with him Saturday's and sit at Bucky's Texaco and listen to Bob Robertson call Cougar games on the radio. It's because a guy my Dad coached who was also the son of Bucky, Brian Flones played for WSU. Brian graduated from Burlington and went on to star with WSU and then earned himself a spot with the Seahawks at linebacker. After moving to Eastern Washington 34-years ago, I quickly learned what it was like to root for the Cougars. Working as a sports guy at radio stations and now a TV station, I can't really root for either. But last night, I was hoping for a Husky National Championship. My football fandom comes directly from spending hours in the pickup traveling logging roads while listening to games on the radio with my Dad. It was a great ride, all the way around and I'll continue to listen, whether it be UW or WSU. Until next time, Good Fishing!
