By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. A memory popped the other day from a couple years ago when Marion and I went fishing at Deep Lake for kokanee. We had such a good time I thought we should try it again. Our Labor Day weekend plans went awry, so I suggested we go Monday. In no time we had the boat hooked up and were headed easy on Highway 28 towards Ephrata. We launched and finally started fishing at 2:30 in the afternoon. I figured we were trying at the absolute wrong time of the day, but with 10-minutes, the deep rod on the port side started bouncing. That would prove to get the hot setup of the day. We marked fish at 45 feet, so that's where I put the deep rods on both sides. A chartreuse Christensen blade with a Christensen pink hoochie that had a little glow in the head and two, red, snelled hooks were the trick. I added some shoepeg corn dyed orange with Slammin' Sam's orange dye mixed with Northwest Bait and Scent Kokanee and Krill formulas. We ended up with 15 beauties and will be back again soon. Until next time, Good Fishing!
