By Dave Graybill

I have talked to some folks that are having good success catching kings at Vernita. This is right about the time that the fishing down there should really kick into gear. I am waiting to hear from Kevin Witte about when to come down and jump on board with him. We talked about doing a video on how to troll downstream for kings, and I want to get this done right away. I was first introduced to this technique when I did a video on the King of the Reach Derby in 2014 and it is now widely used on the Reach. I have done several videos with Shane Magnuson on fishing for kings down there, so you should check out the Dave Graybill channel on YouTube to learn more about how Shane catches fall kings. This supposed to be a big year for coho and over 1,500 have passed over Priest Rapids Dam. Hopefully these are headed for the Icicle River. We’ve had a couple of good seasons fishing for coho on the Icicle and this year could be another one. They will be showing up in the next couple of weeks, so stock up on jigs before they are sold out!
