For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Exhausted from a long weekend, I crashed early last night. Like 6:00 p.m. early! Of course, I awoke three hours later feeling like I'd slept forever. Just before I woke up, I was dreaming of fly fishing for sockeye in Alaska with my Dad. I'd landed two to the deck of this large vessel we were aboard and Dad was impressed how I could cast the bobber out and land it right where we'd seen a fish surface. Then, the fish were so thick in the water I could just reach out and grab them by the tail and toss them aboard. I asked Dad how many he wanted and he said 16. It was very vivid and weird. First, I've never fly fished for sockeye before and why would I be using a bobber? Also, why would I be fly fishing if we were aboard a large, fishing boat? Strange how the mind works. If you want to learn more about fly fishing, a great local group to help is the Wenatchee Valley Fly Fishers Club. They have a club meeting May 19th and an online auction. Go to www.wenatcheevalleyflyfishers.com for more information. Until next time, Good Fishing!
