For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. We're already in the second week of August. Before you know it, the crispy fall air will tingle our noses and we'll be shoving our hands in our pockets to keep them warm. My thoughts will shift from fishing to hunting and off we go into winter. Before we usher in a new season, let's be sure to get out and take advantage of the season upon us. Anglers are still catching kings in the upper Columbia by the drovers. A record sockeye run is still filling freezers in the Brewster Pool and I'm still hearing of great catches of Chinook at Chelan Falls. In the meantime, the walleye bite has really turned on at Banks Lake and Lake Roosevelt. Late-summer bass are hitting just about everything in waterways across Washington and it won't be long before a city grows on the banks of the Columbia at Vernita for the fall run of kings. August for me also means another preseason producing the radio broadcasts for the Seahawks. I'll be flying out to Pittsburgh tomorrow for Seattle's first preseason game against the Steelers. Pittsburgh is at the confluence of three rivers full of walleye and bass. Hmmm. Until next time, Good Fishing!
