By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I fell helplessly in love with radio at a very young age. My Dad was a Seattle sports fan, so through osmosis I became one too. Holding a position high in my esteem with the likes of Largent, Sikma and Alvin Davis were the men who's voices made these people come alive through the radio...Gross, Blackburn and Neihaus. The quiet of a Sunday troll across a flat-calm lake was often-times shattered by me and Dad hollering for joy as Dave Niehaus' voice crackled over the radio as the Mariners rallied for a late-inning win. The sometimes monotonous treks over logging roads in search of deer were made more exciting by the "Touchdown Seahawks" extolled by the high-voiced Pete Gross. The imaginary games I'd play against myself in our carport basketball court, putting myself in a Sonic's uniform while listening to Bob Blackburn describe the awkwardly beautiful over-the-head shot of Jack Sikma. So too was I enthralled by our many tailgate lunches listening to Paul Harvey. Now, another voice of many generations has been silenced. You may not have liked Rush Limbaugh, but I'm sure you listened. Thank you for tuning in. Until next time, Good Fishing!
