By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. When I was 5-years old, my family vacationed in La Paz, Mexico for Christmas. At that age, I had no idea where it was and it was my first time on an airplane. I remember quite a few things about the trip, including the hot, white sand, the beautiful blue water of the Sea of Cortez, and the fish. Dad rented a little, wooden row boat and took me and my older brother Shawn out off the beach. You could look over the side into the water and it was so clear you could see all the way to the bottom. It seemed the sea was filled with millions of darting fish here and there. Each day, Marlin fisherman would gather on the beach next to the scale with the day's biggest catch hanging tail-up. Dad would lift me on his shoulders for a stroll along the shoreline at night and point out the constellations. He also told me about a guy named Steinbeck and a book called The Pear. I can still vividly see it all in my mind as we shiver in the teens this time of year. Mexico calls. Until next time, Good Fishing!
