I got a call from a buddy of mine that lives up in Okanogan County the other day. He had been off camping with his family, and he had some good information about the fishing at a couple of lakes. Spectacle Lake has been on my list of a place to visit for the past few years, and he urged me to try to get up there. There are some really nice rainbow being caught there again this season, and the kokanee, well, that’s what he was really excited about. He said there were lots of 12-inchers in Spectacle, but also a good number of kokanee that are over 16 inches. Now that would be worth the trip. There is also good fishing for bass in Spectacle. Palmer Lake is producing some surprising rainbow this season. Trout over 2 and 3 pounds are being landed. Kokanee are being caught, but not as large as those a few years ago. Palmer is also known for great fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass and nice sized perch. Sounds like it is time to plan a trip to these terrific lakes in Okanogan County.

Palmer Lake is a very scenic place to fish in northern Okanogan County.
