By Dave Graybill

I joined Austin Moser, Mike McKee and Ryan Anderson for a day of walleye fishing on Banks Lake last Friday. Moser had been experiencing some very good fishing on Banks, limiting his clients in as little as two hours. We started our day exploring some new water that Moser hadn’t tried yet, and we got a few fish. He wanted some faster action so we moved to an area that was dotted with way points that indicated where he had caught fish before. We were fishing with a variety of baits, including Super Slow Death Hooks with nothing on it, some with Smile Blades, and I tried a Dutch Fork Custom Lures Blue Tiger Turtle Back. I got fish with this blade rigged on a Super Slow Death Hook and with a double hook worm harness. When we put three rods out with this blade on it our luck sure changed. Both the number of bites we got and the number of fish we got to the boat really picked up. We ended the day with 20 walleye, two perch and a big burbot. I can’t wait to get back up to Banks for some more walleye fishing.
