There are several salmon derbies coming up in the region and the first one starts this Friday. It is the 4th annual CCA Wenatchee River Salmon Derby that takes place on Friday and Saturday, July 17th and 18th. There is a drivers meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 16th at the Eagle Hall on Wenatchee Avenue. You can get tickets at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee and Sportsmen’s Warehouse in East Wenatchee and on the web site. For all the details check out the web site at www.wenatcheesalmonderby.com. There is a new sockeye derby that will take place on Saturday, July 25th. The details on this derby can be found their Facebook page at CCA NCW Sockeye Derby. The mother of them all in this region is the Brewster Salmon Derby and it will happen on July 31st through August 2nd. Fishing in the Brewster Pool has been terrific this year and the derby will see lots of fish caught. There will be prizes for Chinook and sockeye again this year. Tickets are limited for this one, so better log onto www.brewstersalmonderby.com and get your tickets right away.
