By Dave Graybill

While many anglers are off chasing Chinook and sockeye salmon on the Columbia River there are a whole bunch of others that are out on our reservoirs after walleye. Walleye fishing on Potholes Reservoir was as good as we have ever seen it last season, and it’s great this year. Lots of limits of big walleye are being taken. One of the better walleye fisheries in the state is on Lake Roosevelt. There are more walleye in this big reservoir than any other. Another often overlooked walleye fishery is on Rufus Woods Reservoir, which is also producing great catches of rainbow his summer. You can learn all about to catch walleye on these reservoirs from the experts on Wednesday, July 15th at the free seminars at Town Ford in East Wenatchee. Shelby Ross, Ross Outdoor Adventures, has been a guide on Potholes Reservoir for years and is willing to share his secrets on catching walleye. Also appearing at the seminar will be Keith Jensen, of Big Wally’s Guide Service. Keith has been guiding for walleye on Rufus Woods, Banks Lake and Lake Roosevelt and he will also talk about the opportunities for taking rainbow and even kokanee on these reservoirs. The seminars start at 6 p.m. at the Town Ford Dealership in East Wenatchee.
