The best free event for families in the region is coming up this Saturday, September 20th. It’s the 24th annual Wenatchee River Salmon Festival at the National Fish Hatchery in Leavenworth. This is an opportunity to learn about the outdoors, conservation and the life cycle of salmon, which is so important to our communities here in Central Washington. The entrainment lined up to perform on the stage and in the Native American Village this year is outstanding. The Cape Fox Dancers are back, as is Gene Tagaband, a Grammy Award winner musician and performer. The kids will be able to paddle a kayak, target shoot both with bow and arrow and pellet gun, take on the climbing wall and more in the Outdoor Recreation Area. There are many hands on experiences designed to both entertain and educate kids on all sorts of conservation, habitat and wildlife. There is so much to see and do you’ll want to spend the whole day. The gates open at 10 a.m. Don’t miss the best free event for families, this Saturday at the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival, at the National Fish Hatchery in Leavenworth.
