The Steelhead Seminar at Town Ford in Wenatchee is scheduled for a week away, on the 21st of October, and will start at 6 p.m. I hope you can make it. Getting good information on steelhead fishing is something every angler can use this fall and winter. Who knows when we’ll see steelhead numbers like this year’s again. You’ll want to make the most of it. Good news for trout anglers is that the fall fishing at Jameson Lake is the best it has been in years. My wife, Eileen, and I made a trip to Jameson to check it out recently, and the fishing was very, very good. All the folks on the bank were catching fish, with the stringers loaded with lots of 10- to 12-inch rainbow, and a few fish from 14 inches and larger thrown in, too. We did see one lucky angler, who was fishing from the bank with his two daughters, land a 21-inch 4 ½-pounder bruiser! I want to remind anglers that the month-long season at Jameson closes at the end of the month, so don’t miss out. Very good trout fishing should be expected at most lakes in our region. The bite will heat up as water temperatures drop.
