My wife Eileen holds up a perch she caught at Blue Lake. The perch bite is inconsistent, but the size makes it worth the trip. Perch measuring 11 and 12 inches and even longer are common here.

My daughter Whitney holds up a rainbow trout she caught fly fishing on the Icicle. This is an annual event. She loves to visit from Seattle when the Icicle is in fly fishing form. She doesn't go more than once a year, but it doesn't take her long to get back into the rhythm of casting.

Jill Phillips (left) places a tag in a triploid rainbow while Nancine Lorz keeps the fish still. These two and others tagged and released over 700 triploids from Chief Joseph Fish Farms recently. The fish were purchased with the proceeds from the Trippin' with the Triploids Derby.

This new dock is at Buffalo Lake, at Eagle Point. This is the public access area on Buffalo Lake, near Reynolds Resort.

This is a shot of Omak Lake and Nichols Beach. I noticed that there is a new dock on the beach to make launching and loading easier for anglers.

I know it isn't very clear, but the dark shadow in this photo is of a salmon in the Tumwater Canyon. There are a bunch of them in here now. When the wind isn't blowing you can see them clearly. They jump, too! Your message is ready to be sent with the following file or link

An unusual sight when you approach the turn to the ramp at Wells Dam was this airplane sitting by the side of the road. I hear it went down on the road here and no one was injured.

It was a long reach but this anglers got the net under a nice king. The fish weighed about 22 pounds and made the day for these guys from Entiat.

It isn't big, but it's a fish. I am holding up a small king caught on the upper Columbia on a recent trip with my wife Eileen. Chinook fishing is still very good at Wells Dam and the Brewster Pool.

Zack Robinson, of Leavenworth, hadn't been fly fishing for a while, but it didn't take him long to get back into the swing of things. This is one of many rainbow he caught, some with flies he tied himself.
