By Dave Graybill

Ever wanted to fish a lake without any size restrictions or bag limits? Well, here’s your chance. All size restrictions and bag limits have been suspended on both Blue Lake and Park Lake in Grant County, and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has extended the fishing season on both of these lakes. Both Blue and Park lakes are scheduled for rehabilitation to reduce or remove unwanted species from the lakes, so anglers are encouraged to come and catch as many fish as they can. The season has been extended on Blue Lake through October 21st, and the season extension on Park Lake is through October 28th of this year. Both of these lakes are known for producing large rainbow and brown trout, but numbers have declined in recent years. If you target trout on these lakes, expect to catch big ones. If you are a fan of perch fishing I would strongly suggest that you take advantage of the suspension of bag limits and get out there and fill your freezer. I have gone to both of these lakes in past seasons and have caught a bunch of dandy perch.
