By Dave Graybill

I stopped by Hooked on Toys the other day to visit with my brother Rick Graybill. As we talked we were interrupted by an angler that had fished the Hanford Reach the day before. There were photos on his phone of their catch. Wow. They had a pile of nine kings and they were big. He had one that weighed 30 pounds and was so bright it looked like it came from the lower river. He mentioned that he talked to another angler that had caught a king that weighed 28 pounds cleaned and gilled. It must have been a 40-pounder. I was very impressed with the size and condition of the kings coming from the Reach. Rick I and immediately made a plan to go next Monday. Eric Granstrom is going come along with his video camera. We will be doing a show on how to back bounce herring or eggs, like we used to all the time down there. Few people do it anymore. I’ll keep you posted on when the video is ready to view on the Fishing TV Page. Fishing is great on the Reach right now and I am excited about getting down there to get a king!
