Coming up this weekend is a great event to celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day. It is an opportunity to introduce youth and families to target shooting, hunting and fishing. The event will take place at the North Central Washington Gun Club in East Wenatchee. Hosted by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife there will be firearm safety instructors on hand to help kids under the age of 17, accompanied by an adult, to shoot firearms, archery equipment and air rifles at targets for free. On the fishing side of things, there will be a clinic on basic knot tying, a clinic on walleye fishing and the opportunity to learn to cast a spinning rod. There will be a free lunch for the first 150 youth attendees, door prizes and many other things to see and do at the celebration. The event will begin a 10 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. The Gun Club is at 2710 Gun Club Road.
