Don’t forget, the 5th annual Tagged Trout Derby will take place at Burke Lake this Saturday. In addition to the tagged trout that are worth over $3,000.00 the Quincy Valley Tourism Association has added some big rainbow to the lake to add to the fun. You can still register by logging onto their web site at www.quincyvalleytourism.org. Something that perch anglers are excited about is the good fishing that is going on right now near the I-90 Bridge on Moses Lake. It has been a while since the perch fishing has been good here, but this year is happening. Boats are crowded near and under the bridge and anglers are making good catches from the bridge and along rip rap shore. Not only are there limit numbers of perch being taken at a good clip, there are some really big ones mixed into the catches. Remember, there is a 25-fish limit on perch on Moses Lake. All you need to catch these jumbo perch is a spinning rod, two hooks baited with nightcrawlers, about two feet above your weight. Take care when walking on the rip rap, it can be very slippery, especially early in the morning.
