We’ve hit another stretch of hot weather here in Eastern Washington, but we have some hot fishing to go with it. The sockeye salmon season will most likely run through the month of August, with a count of 46,000 sockeye over Tumwater Dam. Fishing is still good on the lake. There are some that are still taking home limits of these prized fish every day. We did have some windy weather that made things difficult for anglers there for a while. So keep an eye on the weather forecasts because it can really blow on Lake Wenatchee. Not far away is Fish Lake, and the perch fishing is very good here now. Get on the lake early for the best bite and to beat the heat. Periwinkles are the best bait for perch, but I have caught plenty of them on a piece of worm. Also, I was fishing off the dock at the Cove Resort at Fish Lake recently and saw three triploids hooked in less than two hours. These are fish of 4 to 6 pounds, too. I’m off to Banks Lake for some smallmouth bass fishing. I will let you know how I do.
