If you are interested in learning how to be more successful at catching summer-run salmon and sockeye on the Columbia River, you will want to attend the free fishing seminar at Town Ford on Wednesday, June 18th. Stuart Hurd, Hurd’s Guide Service, who won the first Wenatchee Salmon Derby will be there to describe his techniques for taking summer-runs. Also making a presentation that evening will be Ron Oules, Reel Lent-Less Guide Service. He lives in Brewster and has boated hundreds of sockeye the past couple of seasons. The seminar will be held at the Town Ford dealership, which is located across from Costco in East Wenatchee. The seminars will begin at 6 p.m. We expect to see nearly 70,000 summer-run salmon returning to our region this season. The forecast for sockeye this year is for 347,000 sockeye to pass through our area on the Columbia River. This included an anticipated record return to Lake Wenatchee; an astounding 63,000 fish! If you want to get your share of summer-runs and sockeye this season, don’t miss this opportunity to learn from the experts. I hope to see you there.
