The thunder storms that rolled through the region put a damper on fishing late in the week, but fishing for sockeye on Lake Wenatchee continues to be good as does fishing for kings at Brewster. Most anglers have had some difficulty getting limits of sockeye on Lake Wenatchee, but that my soon change. Earlier the fish had been staged lower in the lake than usual and many didn’t find them. Now I hear that they are moving up near the mouth of the White and Little Wenatchee rivers. The big balls of fish that would show up on the depth sounders in previous seasons are just now appearing. Fishing should go into another gear from now until the end of the season. Anglers are having best success with a three-hook rig, no hoochie or Smile Blade now. I am getting reports of very good king fishing in Brewster now. The fresh rains may have moved the sockeye up the Okanogan, but warm weather will hold the remaining fish in the pool. I am also hearing that the king fishing is picking up at Chelan Falls. Both Chelan Falls and Wells are known for later in the day and even a good evening bite.
