By Dave Graybill

I have just returned from a trip to the Columbia River Gorge, where I spent two and half days at “Fish Camp” meeting a wide range of representatives with companies that make outdoor related gear. I was invited to camp by Ed Iman, who has organized the event for nine years. It is sponsored by Cabela’s and supported by other companies. The concept is that every morning you fishing for salmon, steelhead, smallmouth bass or sturgeon with other outdoor writers and broadcasters. The company representatives, in many cases, the owners of the firms that make the products are fishing right along with you. When you return to camp they feed you very well, and I was able to not only get to learn about the products that were brought to camp, but really get to know the people that either make them or represent them. This is a wonderful way to get more information than you would at a sports show, and really get to know some great people. I will be showing everyone these products as I introduce them through my Product Review Page on my web site. So don’t forget to click on that page. As I use these products you learn of their value to add to your collection of “must have” gear.
