The weekend following Memorial is a big one, with a lot going on. The annual Kids Fish-In day will be held on Saturday, June 5th at the National Fish Hatchery in Leavenworth. Up to 500 kids, that paid their five dollar registration fee, will get a t-shirt and a rod and reel combo for future fishing trips. They will also get to catch two fish that will be cleaned and iced for the trip home. Also on that weekend is a big doings at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee. Pure Fishing is sending the Berkley Truck and Trailer for the weekend and there will be hourly seminars are their products. At noon on Saturday, Jerrod Gibbons, Upper Columbia Guide Service, will be presenting a seminar on salmon fishing in the region. I understand the folks from Scotty Downriggers will be there, too. You will also be able to check out some great fishing boats from Valley Marine in Yakima. They are bringing some Lund, Duckworth and Weldcraft boats up for the weekend. Dan Allen, owner, and Max Rutger, service manager, will be on hand to answer questions. I will be there on Sunday, from noon till 2 giving a cooking demonstration. I will be preparing my prize winning chili.
