I traveled to Pasco last weekend to the annual Sportsmen’s Show and spend some time with my Lund sponsors at Valley Marine, and had a great time visiting with people and seeing all that makes this show a great one. I can’t wait for the next one. It will be in Yakima February 19th through the 21st. This is the 21st year that the Central Washington Sportsmen’s Show has been held, and if you haven’t ever been to one, go and you’ll see why it’s so popular. While I was away, the fishing picked up at Rufus Woods. Anglers who fished the reservoir near the pens found a pretty fair bite going on when there was some current running. One party took three limits of triploids that averaged 11 pounds each. That’s over 60 pounds of fish for three guys! Others have been doing well on just a black jig, if they want to go barbless, or with the Power Chow, that imitates the food they feed the fish in the pens. Lake Roosevelt was good to excellent over the weekend, and the silvers are running big again. One angler dropped by Coulee Playland to show off his catch, which included three kokanee that weighed 6 pounds each. The kokanee are averaging 2 pounds and the rainbow 15 inches.
