By Dave Graybill

I told a friend about how the perch fishing continues to be terrific on Moses Lake, and he got excited. He helped me do a video on the perch and crappie fishing on the lower end of the lake and near the I-90 Bridge earlier this year. He was willing to take his boat and give it a try. I had watched some anglers fishing from boats the last time I fished for perch from the shore and was jealous of them. Perch do move around and with a boat and a good depth sounder you can stay on top of them. When I was there last, I took a shot of the water level at the boat ramp at Blue Heron Park, which is pretty much the only option for launching a boat to fish Moses Lake right now. The water was just at the end of the concrete, so you don’t have to wade out through the mud to get into the boat. My buddy said he would take a plastic crate to make getting aboard easier. I just need to get a couple of rods rigged, drop shot style, some nightcrawlers and we will be ready to go.
