By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Today is the day. I'm sure boats were lined up at the launch long before daylight today at Beebe Bridge Park and Chelan Falls Park as anglers jump on the salmon opener here in the Upper Columbia. One of my favorite spots to fish is along the shoreline at Chelan Falls Park up to the mouth of where Chelan Falls empties into the Columbia River below Beebe Bridge. It's shallow but I still use my downrigger to control depth and use a Pro-Troll lighted flasher with a Brad Superbait loaded with tuna fish scented with Graybill's Guide Formula from Northwest Bait and Scent. In fact, if you want the recipe on mixing tuna fish directly from Shane Magnuson, go to his YouTube page (https://youtu.be/bQ5qq2IC5kI). I have found his recipes are excellent for catching big kings at Beebe Bridge, especially with the garlic formula. I didn't fish Beebe last year but had great success here two years ago even two weeks after the opener as you'll see with a photo of a nice Chinook I caught. Marion and I are headed for the coast, so we'll hit Beebe upon our return. Until next time, Good Fishing!
