Fishing on our area trout lakes continues to be very good to excellent. I talked to the folks at Jack’s Resort on Jameson Lake, and the good catches I saw on opening day are holding up, and even more of the carryovers are showing up on stringers. Eric Granstrom and I joined guide Mark Olson on Potholes Reservoir earlier this week, to do a Fishing TV Show on the walleye fishing. We couldn’t have hit it better. The walleye were “snapping” as Olson likes to say. We had our limits of walleye weighing one and a half to 2 pounds on average in a little over two hours. We were fishing off the mouth of Crab Creek in 20 to 30 feet of water, trolling Smile Blades on a Slow Death Hook. Granstrom ran home and produced the show, which is now available to see on my FishingMagician.com Face Book page and will be posted to my Fishing TV Page very soon. If you like walleye fishing better get to Potholes. The bite that has been good all spring continues to treat anglers to limit fishing. The cleaning station at Mar Don was lined up with walleye. Everyone is getting them.
