You can look at it two ways. It is a short work week, and we have more days for fishing! The Thanksgiving Holiday is this week and for my family it usually meant that we would gather for a big feast, but it also meant that we would be planning a fishing or hunting trip the same weekend, and often in the morning prior to the big family meal. It’s going to be a good weather weekend, too, the forecast for temperatures in the mid 40s with plenty of sunshine. I am going to try to get up to Fish Lake. There still isn’t any snow on the ground and it has been calm. The rainbow, triploids and brown trout up there must be on the bite as the water cools down. It would be a good weekend to fish Rufus Woods for trout and walleye, too. I know that steelhead anglers will be out in the good weather. There might be some ice on the edges of some of our streams in the mornings, but it will melt as the day warms. I saw Ron Oules, Reel-Lentless Guide Service in Brewster, the other day, and he hooked five steelhead in Bridgeport. Doesn’t sound like hot fishing, but it is the best report from this area I have had.
