The Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is coming up on September 18th and 19th this year, and the event will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. Salmon Fest has been a model of nature festival nationally, and there is just no better educational, free event for families anywhere. There are tons of hands on activities for kids, a full slate of entertainment on the stage, and this year an expanded Outdoor Recreation area. At the Outdoor Recreation area kids will be able to paddle a kayak, target shoot, try their hand at archery, peddle a go-cart on a track, cast and tie a fly, and even try shoeing! This is all in addition to fish painting, fish identification, animal tracking, raptor presentations and environmental displays and exhibits. Reptile Man is a huge hit with the kids and he will be back again this year. All of these activities and entrance into the festival is free! I have attended Salmon Fest ever since I discovered it over ten years ago. You can learn more about everything that will be happening at this year’s Wenatchee River Salmon Festival by logging to salmonfest.com. Bring the whole family. It’s fun, its educational and you’ll love it.
