Trout anglers have some very special opportunities to fish some lakes that are often difficult to reach or blocked by snow this time of year. I hope to get up to Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee soon. When I was with the Wenatchee Wild players and the kids that got to fish with them a few weeks back the trout fishing was terrific and the fish were in prime shape as table fare. My wife Eileen and I have some fantastic days trolling Wooly Bugger flies on Fish Lake in the late fall, and I would sure like to do it again. Fishing from the dock at the Cove Resort should be very good, and I would check with Scott and Nadine at the resort about boat rentals before heading up there. They probably have everything put away by now. The launch should be serviceable, as there hasn’t been any significant snowfall as yet. Roses Lake, near Manson, is another one of our favorites in the fall. I know it is loaded with catchable rainbow. In Okanogan County, there are several lakes that will be open for catch and keep fishing for the winter. Most people are surprised to learn that Banks Lake is great for trout in the fall, too.
