There are some other great fishing days for families coming up in the next few weeks, and I wanted to remind everyone about them so you don’t miss out. On Saturday, May 30th the 12th Annual Family Fishing Derby and Breakfast will be held at the Cove Resort on Fish Lake. The event kicks off at 6 a.m. and is sponsored by the Icicle Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Visit their web site at icicletrout.org for details. The following Saturday is the Fishing Kids Day at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery. This is the one where kids age five to fourteen get a free rod and reel combo, a t-shirt and get to catch a couple of fish from the hatchery raceways. You must pre-register for this one and can do so at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee or on-line at fishingkids.org. The next Saturday there are two at regional hatcheries; the one in the Entiat at Ardenvoir and another near Winthrop in the Methow Valley. All of these events have been going on for years, are very well organized and are guaranteed fun for families. For more details visit FishingMagician.com and click on Events for Kids.
