Families in Grant County are getting into high gear with their fishing fun. All those lakes between Potholes Reservoir and Othello are open to fishing on April 1st, and there is a new special event coming up. On Saturday, April 11th the Moses Lake Irrigation District is opening Connelly Park for a special Kids Fishing Day. Youngsters from the age of five to twelve, and their families are invited to register for three fishing times and come down to win some prizes. Weinstein Beverage Pepsi Cola is helping out with the event, and the MLID has arranged to have hot dogs and Pepsi free. If you want to attend, you can find registration blanks at Mike’s Bait and Tackle, Artic Circle, Moma’s and Airway Heights Deli, all in Moses Lake. The will be “information stations” that the kids pass through before fishing, and the MLID has even more fun planned for the event. The gates will open at 8 a.m. and will close at about 2 p.m. The park is only open for this event.
