I ran up the Okanogan and tried for smallmouth when the sockeye bite died. Didn't have much luck, but this guy smacked a top water lure near the bridge. I am going to try this again!

The sockeye fishing is going great guns on the Brewster Pool. There are thousands of them flipping around up here. Just down stream there are swarms of them in the big eddy below Wells Dam, too.

A ball of perch is just going off the screen on my depth sounder at Fish Lake. When I see this I put the Minn Kota in Anchor Mode and go to work--hands free.

This is one of the first smallmouth I caught while fishing at Banks Lake. Anglers can plan on having a ball catching smallmoth at Banks this summer. Three-inch Senkos worked best.

My wife Eileen shows off one the many smallmouth bass she caught at Banks Lake recently. We caught over 50 fish, with eight weighing over a pound to over two pounds.

There are lots of perch like this one to be caught at Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee right now. This is the time to load up the kids, grab a tub of crawlers and have a blast.

This the last step that fish take to reach the Columbia above Wanapum. You can see both a summer-run king and a sockeye about to take the plunge, that was over 20 feet, and now is just a few.

When fish exit the ladder at Wanapum they use this "water park" feature to reach the up stream side of the dam. This slide compensates for the low water level as repairs are made to the dam.

This is the new extension to the fish ladder at Wanapum Dam. This allows fish to make it above the dam with the low water levels. As you can see both the summer-run kings and sockeye are using it.
