I had a chance to fish Lake Chelan for mackinaw with Jeff Witkowski, of Darrell and Dads Family Guide Service, and I am holding up the results of out trip.

You can see the snow and ice is getting soft and rutty at Fish Lake. Walking can be difficult and I would be cautious about drilling a hole with the warmer weather we’ve had.

Here is one of the rainbow I landed and released while fishing at Rocky For Creek recently. I was casting a mini Leech and Scud on an intermediate sinking line or a white Bunny.

Here is Austin Moser (left) and Eric Granstrom with one of the kokanee we caught on Lake Roosevelt. Austin Moser says the fishing for these big kokanee should be good through March, weather permitting. The fish are caught in the top 15 feet of the water in the winter months.

Here is a limit of big kokanee from Lake Roosevelt. Eric Granstrom and I were fishing with Austin Moser, or Austin’s Northwest Adventures, near Keller. Shown also is a selection of blades and spinners from Kokabow Fishing Tackle that worked really good getting the kokanee.

Austin Moser shows off the kokanee that Daniel Booth landed while fishing below Spring Canyon on Lake Roosevelt. Booth landed lots of rainbow, too.

Austin Moser, of Austin’s Northwest Adventures, holds the fish that Mike McKee caught on his side planer and plug below the Keller Ferry on Lake Roosevelt.

Just opened is the new Visitors Center at Wanapum Dam. This is great for the whole family. Both the Visitors Center and the Heritage Center were Grant County PUD projects.

This is just one small area of the Wanapum Heritage Center near Priest Rapids Dam. This was completed in October and is well worth a visit. Wonderful displays and videos.

It was worth it. Shane Magnuson holds up this beautiful hatchery hen he hooked on our very cold and wet float.
