I have a plan to fish Omak Lake and it appears it is a good one. My contacts in Omak tell me that the fishing on Omak Lake is very good. Trollers are getting lots of Lahontan cutthroat and even the shore anglers are doing well. I like to troll a variety of items on Omak. One of my favorites is a white-with-pink tip Needlefish. Also, I like to troll plugs. Shore anglers casting spinners and spoons. There are mixed reports from Rufus Woods Reservoir, but it appears that the bank anglers are actually doing better than boaters here right now. The person I talked to was most excited about the bass fishing. He fished the lower Okanogan recently and had a blast. He landed six smallmouth that were over 14 inches, and lots of other small fish. Also fishing very well right now are the lakes near Manson. Both Wapato Lake and Roses Lake are producing excellent catches of largemouth bass. The fall bite is definitely in full swing on these lakes. One of my favorites in the fall is Antillon Lake, which is up the valley above Wapato Lake. It is a great lake for brown trout and fall is the best time to get them.
