By Dave Graybill

I had a busy past week, putting about a thousand miles on my Ford F-150. I traveled down to the Columbia River Gorge to attend “Fish Camp”, and got to fish for walleye and smallmouth bass, as well as meet some great people that manufacture outdoor gear. This is an annual event where writers and broadcasters like me are invited to spend some time fishing together and learn more about their products. I hadn’t been there five minutes before Ed Iman, organizer of the event had arranged an interview for me with the owner of Izore fishing lines. Immediately following this I was able to jump on board a boat and go fishing with the guys from WalleyeWarriors.com. I learned a lot from them, but the walleye just weren’t biting. It was a different case with the smallmouth bass. I fished two days with a real bass pro and caught not only good numbers of them we caught some dandies both above and below The Dalles Dam. You can read more details about this in my Weekly Column in the Nickel Ads newspapers or through my web site. I had to cut my visit at Fish Camp short this year, because I was headed for the Oregon Coast to do some salmon fishing.
