I’m really looking forward to this weekend. It will be my first visit to the NW Ice Fishing Fest in Molson, and I am way behind a crowd of other regular anglers. This will be the 8th Annual, and I have been surprised at the number of e-mails I have received from those who have been going to this event for years. Even if the fishing is terrible they plan on coming back just for the fun. This is a classic community event that celebrates what you can do for a good time in the winter in the far north edge of the state. In addition to the fishing derby, with prizes for biggest fish in adult and youth divisions, there are prizes for things like the smallest fish and even the oldest angler. I am looking forward to the fishing, of course, but the pancake breakfast has a lot of appeal. You can also plan on seeing me at the big Italian-style dinner that evening. I have been through this country before, but haven’t been there in winter. It should be spectacular. I know I will see some familiar faces, but I am interested in meeting the folks I haven’t met yet. Like the people that give their time to organize the event, and some of the people that come back year after year. You can get all the details by going to my Home Page and click on the tile for the 8th Annual Ice Fishing Festival.
