Triploids saved the day at Wells Dam when I fished with Eric Grangstrom here recently. My wife Eileen hooked and lost one steelhead and Eric caught and released a small jack salmon. We finished the day below the dam catching and releasing a bunch of triploids.

Tom Verschueren picked the right day to try bobber and jig fishing for the first time. We had a beautiful winter day, and although we didn't hook any steelhead, the triploids made up for it. We had a lot of action and he caught and released some dandy triploids.

My wife Eileen is pretty proud of this steelhead, the largest one she has ever landed. It hit a Maxi Jig, baited with shrimp, and took several spectacular jumps before coming to the net.
