Jeff Phippen, of Leavenworth, poses next to the sign that explains how the Trout Unlimited partnership with the Chelan County PUD and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife created an acclimation pond for steelhead, and a juvenile trout pond for kids. I took the photo during the Icicle Chapter of Trout Unlimited's annual kids fishing day at the pond.

I am holding up a dandy summer-run Chinook I caught while fishing with Shane Magnuson (right), below Wanapum Dam on the opening day of summer run salmon season.

Fred Lillian was one of the people that came on the trip to Belize and he joined Eric Granstrom and I at Omak Lake. He caught some really big Lahontan cutthroat on our recent trip to the Colville Reservation Lake.

Eric Granstrom shows off one of many Lahontan cutthroat that we caught fishing at the south end of Omak Lake. We caught fish everywhere we went but found a good number near the large rock island.

Here I am with a typical Omak Lake cutthroat. We had a blast catching these guys last weekend. A white with pink Needlefish turned out to be the hot lure.

Not long after Whitney landed her fish, I got this one. We had a blast catching smallmouth, either casting lizards to rocky shores or crank baits where there were large sunken rocks.

My daughter Whitney came over for Fathers Day weekend, so we spent a day at Banks Lake fishing for smallmouth bass. This was her big fish of the day. It hit a crank bait cast in a boulder field

It was a hot day on Banks Lake when Jeff Bryant fished with me, and the fishing was pretty hot, too. Here's Bryant with one of many smallmouth he caught casting small lizards along the shoreline. Senkos were good for a few, too.
