Jerry Gutzwiler holds up a dandy triploid that he caught with me at Rufus Woods. Were trolling shallow along the can line at the bottom end of the reservoir.

An angler steers a large rainbow to his net on Rocky Ford Creek. The ice-free stream offers good fly fishing through the winter. I recently visited Rocky Ford and my first fish measured 27 inches!

Ice fishermen are still getting good catches of perch on Fish Lake, near Lake Wenatchee. These anglers found a Swedish Pimple trailed by a Glo Hook to be very effective for the fat perch.

The lower bridge on Rocky Ford Creek is chained and locked to discourage anglers from using it. I don't when they plan on getting it repaired so anglers can reach the lower stream.

There was just one angler fishing on the ice inside the Coulee City Marina when I passed there recently. There were many more fishing on the outside of the new breakwater.

Eric Granstrom shows off one of the rainbow we caught in the middle of a snow storm on Lake Roosevelt. This one hit an orange Rapala fished off a side planer. We caught others on downriggers.

It was sunny and calm when I got this rainbow on Lake Roosevelt. We trolled out in the middle and got eight ranging in size from 15 to 17 inches. The top lure was a bright orange F-7 Rapala.

I found out where all the ice fishermen are hanging out. This is a shot of Lind Coulee from Road M on the way to Medicare Beach. Fishing for perch and some walleye is good right now in this area.

Mount Raineer was peaking over the hills in the distance when I was at Medicare Beach on Potholes Reservoir. It was a beautiful day, just too much ice floating around to allow for shore fishing.

A trio of ice anglers try their luck on Fish Lake, with Dirty Face Mountain in the background. Ice was good on the 17th of Dec. Always check on conditions before planning to ice fish, though.
