By Dave Graybill

I am soooo frustrated! This salmon season at Chelan Falls is like my walleye season at Moses Lake. I just can’t seem to get into gear. The last two trips I have had decent action but haven’t put much in the boat. On Monday we had three good strikes, and whiffed on two of them and my leader separated on the last one. Gurrr. Just like Moses Lake, though, I haven’t given up. I will be giving it another try soon, and I hope things turn around for me then. We’ll see. I also had my wife Eileen meet me in Chelan to check out Wapato Lake. One of the folks in the warm water species program with the WDFW told me that huge bluegill, very nice perch and lots of fat largemouth bass are available here and no one is fishing for them. When we got there it was windy and the only smooth water was being used by a water skier. Oh well. I plan to give it another shot later in the week. I know a few folks that would to find a place with some big perch, and big bluegill on a fly rod are a blast. I will let you know what I learn.
