By Dave Graybill

I finally got a chance to fish for walleye on Moses Lake, and had a great time. The bite, which is not unusual with walleye fishing, was sporadic, but my two fishing buddies and I had six nice fish in the live well by mid afternoon. We had a double on our first pass at the flat above Connelly Park. Hit two more fish on the corner further up lake. Picked up one more where the houses are at the northern end of Moses Lake, and picked up the last fish trolling home. The fish hit a mix of white spinners, white Max Lure squidders, and the last fish hit a Rapala Shad Rap. All of the fish we caught were keepers, and talking to other anglers the walleye fishing has been very good on Moses Lake this season. The bass fishing has also been very good. I plan to make my next trip to Banks Lake. I hear that it has been good for walleye and bass this season, too. Before I hit Banks, though, I will be fishing for triploids below Chief Joseph Dam. The special catch and keep season is open now, and limit is ten triploids per day!
