Mount Adams overlooks The Dalles when you view the city from the park at the top of the hill. Just down river a ways Mount Hood dominates the skyline. The Columbia River here offers some of the best salmon, smallmouth bass, sturgeon and walleye fishing in two states!

When you walk by this doorway in downtown The Dalles, be sure and step inside. You'll be treated to some great beers, food and entertainment.
Route 30 is famous for its brews and you'll have to get one of their growler holsters. Check out the beer club glass collection, too.

One of the places I have always wanted to visit in the Dalles is the Discovery Center, right on the highway to the launch south of town.
Here is one of the raptors that is part of the educational offerings at the center. If you take the time to see all that is here, you be very glad you did.

This sign on the wall at Sedition Brewing Company shows the support that the new owner received from friends and the community when he took on the job of refurbishing an ice house that was a century old. It is a good example of the efforts being made revitalize the businesses in The Dalles.

The Baldwin Saloon dates back to 1876 in The Dalles and has an amazing history. What is amazing here now is the menu. I have sampled some of their fare, like chicken pot pie, bacon wrapped dates and bouillaibasse.
Plan to have dinner here after fishing. You'll be amazed, too.
