I got my hands on one of these new walleye rods from Lamiglas last spring and have been able to put it through its paces. I have always preferred longer rods for walleye fishing so I knew I would like this one. The actual model number is HS94MC 9’4”, and it is rated for 8- to 12-pound line and ¼- to 5/8-ounce lures. I have been using this rod primarily for trolling with bottom bouncers and haven’t used anything less than 2-ounce weights. It handles 3- and even 4-ounce bottom bounces easily. The rod has significant back bone but has a very sensitive tip. I can see the blades of my spinners working. Anglers who like a versatile rod will like the Redline. Due to its length and flex it works great for side planing. The rod has a nice long handle of composite material so it will not degrade in a rod holder and even a butt cap that you usually see on premium rods. If you are looking for a rod that will serve you well for bottom bouncing and side planing for walleye, and won’t break the bank, the Redline will more than meet your needs. This is just one of the many quality rods available from Lamiglas. You’ll want to check out their web site at
