Minn Kota I-Pilot
The new Minn Kota I-Pilot is easily the best advancement in fishing in a long time. This remote unit, which works with the Minn Kota Terrova, Power Drive V2, Riptide ST or Riptide SP bow mount electric motors has remarkable features that will make your time on the water much more effective. The Record a Track feature will memorize a course of up to two miles. With a touch of a button you can go right back over the course and it will record up to three of them. The Stop Lock feature works like an anchor. Hit the button and it will hold your boat within five feet of the spot. It will return to the location when it is recalled, from as far away as a quarter mile. You cans store three Stop Lock locations, too. The Cruise Control is a feature of the Advance Auto Pilot. Hit this button to maintain a selected speed over your course. The Co-Pilot, which many anglers are already using is built into this unit as well, so you can change direction and speed with your remote any where in the boat. My new Lund 1800 Sport Angler from Valley Marine in Yakima came equipped with the Minn Kota I-Pilot this year, and I got the chance to try it out on a recent trip. Believe me, I am not a techy kind of guy. This is so simple even I can use it with ease. I set a trolling course, while fishing for rainbow, and the I-Pilot took over. It accurately followed the trolling course I recorded, and kept a constant speed. All I had to do was reel in the fish. I can see why many anglers are skipping the expense of a kicker motor. The I-Pilot does it all—by remote! I am very impressed with this new advancement in technology, and would recommend it to anyone. It is now available at most dealers and the suggested retail price is $399.99.
